  Register: Click here to register in advance for this virtual (ZOOM) meeting. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

  Purpose: Meetups provide opportunities for environmental educators and communicators from both formal and non-formal education settings to build relationships, strengthen partnerships, share resources and program updates, and cross-pollinate their program ideas with colleagues.

  Agenda: Meetups begin with a facilitated round-robin session where participants share updates and announcements. Come prepared to announce any program dates, opportunities for partnership, or information requests (~2 minutes per person).  

  Schedule: Meetups are typically held on the second Tuesday of each month, alternating between virtual and in-person events.  Locations and timings may vary, so be sure to check the website for the next event!

Tour with a Roper Mountain Staff guide to enjoy the displays and programs offered during Summer Adventure and learn about our school programs. Explore the Environmental Science and Sustainability Center featuring our Water Story and Nature Exchange. Encounter animals in our Marine, Ecology and Rainforest Labs.   Creative Environmental Writing Workshop for Environmental Educators

  Have you ever wondered how to turn your passion for the environment and knowledge about science into creative writing that is effective and emotionally compelling?

  Join us for a generative writing workshop and discussion with an environmental author and writing coach. The workshop will take participants on a 2-mile walk through the Congaree National Park while exploring different genres of writing from journaling to poetry and fiction. Participants will have the opportunity to generate new writing in a safe and supportive way. After the workshop, participants will be able to ask questions and engage in a lively discussion about the important connections between environmental awareness and contemporary literature.

  Cassie Premo Steele, Ph.D., is an accomplished American writer celebrated for her profound contributions to literature and ecofeminism. Her extensive body of work encompasses evocative poetry, insightful essays, and explorations of ecofeminist philosophy. Steele's writing resonates with readers by intertwining themes of women's experiences, spirituality, and nature, forming a tapestry of thought-provoking narratives. As an advocate for environmental consciousness and gender equality, her words bridge the gap between the personal and the ecological.
