Workshop description:
Salamanders are vital to our ecosystems, and the southern Appalachians are home to more salamander species than anywhere else in the world! Join Tanya Poole with the NC Wildlife Resources Commission, for a fun-filled professional development workshop that will focus on basic salamander biology, adaptations, and K-5 activities to teach about local salamanders. Lunch is included.
Speaker Bio:
Tanya Poole is a Conservation Initiatives Engagement Coordinator for the NC Wildlife Resources Commission. She has been an educator with the Commission for 20 years and was an elementary school teacher before that. She has a BS in Elementary Education from Western Carolina University and a Master’s in Environmental Education from Montreat College.
