Hi everyone!
I hope you're all surviving and thriving in this summer heat! If you're surviving but maybe not thriving or just want to take a nice break inside with your fellow EEASC friends, we've got the meetup for you! Join us for Science Sunday, on July, 13th, to learn a little something about how great plants are at coping in extreme temps. This meetup is actually across the border, in Asheville, NC, brought to us by the Asheville Science Tavern and 500 Women Scientists. Speaker Gabrielle Moneymaker is a researcher in the Plant Physiological Ecology Laboratory at UC Riverside and a National Science Foundation Fellow.
With our meetup location being a little farther away than usual, we are planning to meet at 4:00 pm in the Ingles parking lot in Landrum to carpool. This will put us at the event location, White Labs Kitchen and Tap, an hour before the talk begins so that we can grab food and drinks. If you would like to carpool, please let me know by sending an email to samantha@conesteepreserve.org and we'll make sure to look for you at the Ingles.
