Trout. It's what's for dinner. Or, you know, you can have whatever you like. Before dinnertime, come join your EEASC friends at the Walhalla State Fish Hatchery! While we won't be eating trout here, we will get a tour from SCDNR's hatchery manager, Scott Poore. We'll learn how the hatchery annually produces and stocks 500,000 trout and all about the trout lifecycle. If you don't know what a sac fry is, you will. Spoiler alert, the fry isn't French. Maybe I should have eaten lunch before I wrote this...I digress.
The hatchery location at Mountain Rest is beautiful and very close to good hiking and fishing spots, if you want to bring your gear for before or after the tour. This has the makings of a great Saturday...just don't forget the snacks! :)
