Details: Following the round robin networking session, participants will join Saluda Shoals Park Rangers Zach Pensa and Rachel Kennerly to learn the basic principles of nature interpretation while enjoying a nature walk and dip-netting experience through the Park's Wetland Ecology program. Rangers Zach and Rachel will share techniques such as sensory storytelling, equipment, and helpful tips for outdoor safety and leading a nature walk with students.
“You don’t have to go to a park to take a nature walk with students,” says Ranger Rachel. “I want to provide Meetup participants with a behind-the-scenes glimpse into Saluda Shoals Park’s programs while also sharing tools and techniques other educators can use any time kids are outside.”
Approximately 7,000 students participate in Saluda Shoals Park’s Wetland Ecology program each year.
