In a forty minute walking tour, visiting Environmental Educators will see a variety plants, trees and farm buildings on the 6.7 acre Lexington County Museum campus. With an historical interpreter as tour guide, the roles and importance of specific plants in Lexington in the 1700s and 1800s will be presented. Lesson plan ideas for area students will also be a topic of discussion.
The Environmental Educators’ monthly meeting will be held in the great room of the Ernest Hazelius House (231 Fox Street, Lexington), a two-hundred five year old historic home and the hospitality facility of the museum.
In case of inclement weather, the entire presentation will take place in the Hazelius House.
