    Grant money will help James B. Edwards Elementary continue and expand Green Step projects

    Students at A.C. Moore Elementary School learned about the properties and importance of soil during a SuperSoil! lesson led by Hannah Lindsay of the Richland Soil and Water Conservation District. Students at A.C. Moore are working to improve soil by creating compost with food waste and other materials generated at school.

    Kindergarten students at Blue Ridge Elementary got digging after learning how to harvest sweet potatoes. They then taught other classes about their successful fall harvest.

    Seven Oaks Plant Shop recently donated a large box of seeds to Irmo High School’s garden team. Students sorted the seeds by categories (flowers, vegetables and herbs) to both use and share with other Green Step schools in their school district.
