    Creating posters about keeping SC litter free is a good way for students to fulfill the “teach others” requirement for a Green Step School “Protect: Litter Prevention” project. See the state winning posters from last school year here and read about this year’s contest here.

    Holy Trinity Catholic School is new to Green Steps this year but has been active for several years in the “From Seeds To Shoreline” student marsh restoration program at North Inlet-Winyah Bay Reserve. EV Bell from Sea Grant leads student activities and teaches planting techniques. And Reserve staff lead vegetation sampling, water quality testing and marsh habitat explorations.

    Irmo HS Special Education teachers Mrs. Moran and Mrs. Hampton, with Green Steps mentor Mrs. Byars, distributed gardening supplies to students yesterday so they can continue their planting projects while at home.
